KALPETTA: ‘Splash 2010', a three-day monsoon carnival organised by the Wayanad Tourism Organisation (WTO), a body of property owners in the district, in association with the Department of Tourism, District Administration and the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), will be held in the district from July 9, 2010.

Documenting tourism

The monsoon carnival aims at discovering Wayanad through travel operators, tourism entrepreneurs and travel writers who will write on the thrilling experience in Wayanad during the monsoon season inside the country and abroad, the organisers told the mediapersons here on Friday. The WTO will ensure the participation of prominent 150 tour operators, 20 travel writers, 200 tourism entrepreneurs and key officials of the industry in the carnival, the organisers said.

Outdoor programmes

As a part of the carnival, outdoor programmes such as zorbing, biking, hiking, kabbadi, mud football, rafting, crab hunt, tug-of-war and treasure hunt will be held at different locations in the district. Apart from this the indoor programme such as cookery talent competition, flower arrangement for women and painting competition for children will be held as part of the three-day carnival, the organisers said.
