Splash 2010, an exciting monsoon revelry, will bring together the tourism fraternity in the country to the hill district of Wayanad in Kerala, next month.

Organised by the Wayanad Tourism Organization during the southwest monsoon in the state, the event would be conducted from July 9 to 11, official sources said.

The organisers expect a large gathering of travel writers, travel operators, celebrities from the film world, literature, sports and politics, among others. They also expect guests from 30 prime resorts and hotels in Wayanad and high-profile visitors from the neighbouring districts of Wayanad.

During the three-day event, there would be both indoor as well as outdoor activities.

'Keraleeya,' one of the highlights of the event would showcase art forms of Kerala by noted artistes on the inaugural day, followed by art forms of Wayanad and music and dance programmes during the subsequent days.

The participants would have an opportunity to visit places in and around various hamlets in Wayanad. River rafting, crab catching, treasure hunt, splash volleyball, paddy transplantation, splash football and climbing the slippery pole are some of the other activities that would be part of the outdoor activities.

Cycling, bullock-cart ride, bamboo rafting, river crossing, elephant ride, archery demonstration and competition and trail walking are some of the other activities that the participants can enjoy.
